Live Music plus some local restaurants will be offering Car Show Specials on their menus!  Door Prizes raffled to car participants and spectators!  A DJ out in front of the Union Hotel providing all your favorites and announcing the Door Prize Winners and Vintage Car Registration is Free!  All cars planning to attend must register and sign in.  For car registration info contact Show Chairman, Ron Van Horn @ vanhornron@gmail.com or call Van Horn Financial 908-806-6041.

"Health and Wellness in the Park", an 8 Week Series, Every Wednesday July 2 to August 20
The Borough of Flemington will be hosting its "Health and Wellness in the Park" series again this summer on Wednesdays throughout July and August. The events are sponsored by the Borough of Flemington, Hunterdon Healthcare’s Integrative Medicine Program, and Hunterdon Cardiovascular Associates in partnership Be Here Now Yoga.  The eight week series will begin on Wednesday, July 2 and run through August 20 at the Court Street Park and includes programs such as Yoga In The Park, the Mayors Walk Around Town and Tai Chi.

* Karen Walsh, owner of Be Here Now Yoga, will offer a sunrise yoga class at 6:00 am in the park. In the event of rain, the 6:00 am class will be offered at Be Here Now Yoga, on 63 Main Street in Suite 202.
** Mayor Erica Edwards will start her “Walk Around Town” morning walk at 7:00 am. If you would like to join the mayor, you can meet her at the Historic Courthouse on Main Street.

*** Matt Branham, who teaches Tai Chi in Frenchtown and Flemington, will be offering Tai Chi on Wednesday evenings, weather permitting, at 7:00 PM at the park.

Join us for the Restaurant Association’s Tomato and Corn Festival on Sunday, Aug. 24, 4-8 p.m., on the lawn behind Teaberry’s Tea Room.  This event is just $10.00 to attend as guests partake of a beer, wine + food garden which will be hosted by the Flemington Restaurant Association. Flemington’s own Christine Martucci will be the headliner at this event as she is noted as one of New Jersey’s most energetic rockers reminiscent of Janice Joplin.  Other musical performers will take the stage and local artists will be featured to showcase Hunterdon County’s creative talents. PLUS take part in a cook off contest for the best dishes made with tomatoes and corn!  YOU be the judge as you taste samplings from participating local restaurants. Beer and wine plus BBQ food will be available.  Join Main Street Manor along with our local  restaurant partners and friends for this unique foodie event!   

The 6th Annual Central Jersey Jazz Festival, Friday, September 12th 2014 6-10pm!
This Open Air event attracts music +art lovers from all over the State. The outdoor fest will take place on the Historic courthouse portico.  Headlining in Flemington on Main Street will be legendary Psychedelic funk pioneer, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, Bernie Worrell.  The Jazz scene is his, and his Orchestra’s new cross over into yet another music genre. 

Gardens & Gardening:

Duke Farms - Duke Farms, located on 2,740 acres is one of the largest privately-owned parcels of undeveloped land in New Jersey and is just 20 minutes from the inn. Duke Farms is rich in ecological, horticultural and agricultural resources. Through the beauty of its natural setting, the diversity of its wildlife, and the scope and quality of educational programs, Duke Farms inspires people to transform their approach to conservation and to start building a more sustainable future. FREE admission / Open every day but Wednesday. Visit for tram or walking tour, a bike-ride or take a class on organic gardening, seed-starting, orchids, birding, beekeeping.

Carousel Lavender Farm - Open every WEDNESDAY for full-farm tours beginning June 18 through July 23!  June-July is peak blooming season, so don't miss this heaven-on-earth!  No reservations are required for tours and the fee is $10 per person for Wednesday tours...the full property tour lasts about one hour and there is one at 10am & another at 2pm. See the amazing outbuildings, lavender fields, the restored carriage house and the owner's private garden!  Treat yourself...this is a "MUST DO" and just 15 minutes from the inn!

 

 

Hortulus Farm - Open from May-October - A one hundred acre, 18th Century farmstead and nursery operation located in Wrightstown boasting spectacular period gardens and a museum. Created by garden and event designer Renny Reynolds and garden writer Jack Staub. www.hortulusfarm.com

Bucks Beautiful Kitchen & Garden Tour - Fall Gardens on Sunday September 28, 2014. The tour offers a delightful afternoon, discovering the hidden jewels tucked away on the streets of Doylestown and it's neighboring communities. PLAN AHEAD for this, it is often a sellout!

Social Events:

Tinicum Park Polo: Beginning May 17; polo matches 2:00pm-4:00pm. $10.00 per car...pack some wine, a picnic lunch and head to Tinicum Park in nearby Erwinna, Pa. An afternoon of fun & entertainment for sure!

 

Tours:

Bucks County Covered Bridge Tour - This tour of Bucks County's 12 remaining covered bridges starts at the Memorial Building in Washington Crossing Historic Park on the Delaware River. The Tour makes a large circle through Bucks County and is planned so the traveler can start at any one of the bridges. Wine Related:

Unionville Vineyards - Visit the Vineyard for their Fourth Annual Lobster Bake set for Friday, August 1 at 6pm.  Live music, lobster dinner and wines by Unionville!  $88.00 per person...visit the website for tickets and more info!

Old York Cellars - 'Wine & Music Under The Stars' - Beginning in May, Old York Cellars' hosts live music on the vineyard every Friday evening. An eclectic lineup of musicians offers something for everyone, ranging in style from Folk and Rock to Jazz and Blues. Guests are welcome to bring their own food to enjoy with Old York's award winning wines while relaxing at reserved tables. Fridays, 6-9pm -$5 advance, $7.50 at the door. (During inclement weather, the event is moved indoors to the fire-lit Vista Room)

Hunterdon County's 300th & Flemington's Historic House Tour!

Hunterdon County is celebrating its 300th Anniversary this year...and the HCT Committee has an unbelievable array of celebratory events, tours, festivals and historical reenactments planned!  

Plan to attend Flemington's Historic House Tour, 'Stroll through Flemington' slated for Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 11 am - 5 pm.  Six private, historic homes as well as four notable historic public buildings will be open for Visitors to Tour, in self-guided fashion.  We hope you can join us in celebrating Flemington's Historic beauty along with Hunterdon's Tricentennial. Follow the Flemington Historic Preservation Commission on facebook  AND on the HPC website for more Tour info as it becomes available!
