THE CORN & TOMATO FESTIVAL TAKES PLACE IN FLEMINGTON THIS SUNDAY and this is an event NOT TO MISS!

Last year's inaugural Corn & Tomato festival started off small, with the intention of growing it into one of the biggest foodie events in Hunterdon County. Ticket sales of 200 grew to over 500 attendees as many more people were interested in Flemington's first Farm to Table event. The 2015 festival has been greatly expanded and will be held in the County Park on Park Avenue in Flemington this Sunday, August 23rd, from 3-6:30pm.
The first hour of the festival will be a ticketed event, limited to 250 attendees. Pre ticket sales are available for $20.00 per person. See
downtownflemington.com for ticket purchase. Samples of local chefs' specialties made of either corn and/or tomatoes will be provided. The produce is all creatively prepared by our local restaurants. Mix and mingle with the chefs and learn how to make your favorite sample...plus recipes will be provided.

Attendees can enjoy the festival from 4:00-6:30pm for free and open to all. Locally grown corn and tomatoes will be used in the dishes to highlight the Buy Local campaign and to feature the great farms of Hunterdon County. All items made with corn & tomato will be sold in addition to many other chef specialties.

In addition to the great local fare, local farms and retailers will be participating selling their produce, oils and vinegars with a Beer Garden by Jakes of Flemington that will include Hunterdon local brews by 'Conclave'.   Edible NJ, a popular foodie publication, will be a participant, and Rutgers, who will be providing a teaser for the Tomato Tasting taking place at Synder Farm in Pittstown. Master Gardener demos will also be given in their area + enjoy the music of Thomas Johnston and Zydeco-a-Go-Go!  VIP tickets are limited so hurry and get them now!

Main Street Manor participated last year with Ken's Roasted Corn and Tomato Bruschetta and although we did not win, we had a great time!  No chance of us participating this year due to a wedding at the inn, but we oh, so wish we could!  The photos here are from last years Festival and it was an awesome day for the participants, Chefs, attendees and Flemington!  So DO attend this great end-of-summer farm-to-table event...we kinda think you'll be glad you did!
